Omar Merced began his training in Massachusetts and quickly moved onto the professional stage at the age of 16 with the Rhode Island State Ballet. Omar brings over 30 years of experience in the industry of the arts having trained with world- renowned choreographers such as Ann Reinking, Mia Michaels, Doug Caldwell, Tracie Stanfield, Finis Young and Sheryl Murakami to name a few. He is currently on staff as head teacher/ choreographer at Express Dance & Acrobatics in Milford, MA and Elite Academy of Dance in Shrewsbury, Ma where he teaches numerous genres of dance. Merced has also worked as a guest choreographer and master teacher for diversified companies across the US and Canada. Company work includes: The Art of Movement with the Orlando State Ballet, Hersheypark, PA., Performance Edge 2 Parkland, FL and Xpress Dance Company, Madison, MS. Many of his students have gone onto the professional stage with show like La Cage Aux Folles, Elf the Broadway Musical, Legally Blonde the Musical and Finding Neverland. Merced is also an accomplished performer, shows include: Featured male soloist- FOSSE National/ International Tour, Grease, Guys & Dolls and featured dancer for top country recording artist Dolly Parton to name a few. His most current accomplishment is founder and proud of owner of Boss Couture Costumes.
