Katia began her training in Monterrey, Mexico. In 1995, she joined Ballet de Monterrey, and became a principal dancer under the direction of Fernando Bujones. Katia won the silver medal in 1991 at the International Ballet Competition in Peru and was a finalist at the 2002 International Ballet Competition in Jackson, MS. She has performed principal roles in Don Quixote, Giselle and Sleeping Beauty among others all over the world.
